We are a small band of miscreants and never-do-wells. All five of us are radical workers from an Iranian background, although we have never been part of the Iranian left and view the professional politico with a mixture of amusement and pity. Over the years we have been involved in more failed struggles than we care to remember. It is fair to say that incompetence has been our constant companion. When we were young, we were not very smart.  As we aged, we did not become any smarter but we did manage to learn a thing or two. 

 

We learned from council communism that Bolshevism is irretrievably flawed. Anarchism taught us how to struggle against authority and hierarchies. Left-wing communism, Autonomist Marxism, Situationism, feminism, anarcho-communism,  syndicalism, humanistic Marxism, and libertarian communism all filled a void. And yet we find ourselves still hankering for more knowledge, more riotous escapades and more radical shenanigans. Isolated as we are across the globe, transnationalists of Iranian background can only cheerlead the revolution from afar. But maybe together we could leave an impression disproportionate to our meagre resources. Revolutions after all don’t come round very often. So let’s jump on this bandwagon and see where it takes us.

در بارۀ ما:

 

ما گروهکی هستیم از بدجنسان و شکست خوردگان این دنیا. «دلقکان مردم» متشکل از پنج کارگر فرا ملیت رادیکال است با پیشینۀ ایرانی. اگرچه لازم به توضیح است که هرگز بخشی از چپ ایران نبوده ایم (چه چپ سنتی، چه چپ نوین) و به «فعالان سیاسی حرفه ای» با دیدی مملو از سرگرمی و ترحم نگاه می کنیم.

در طول زمانه، ما بیش از حدّ معمول درگیر مبارزات اجتماعی ای بودیم که به جایی نرسیدند. بی رودربایستی باید اعتراف کنیم  که بی کفایتی و بی عرضگی همراه همیشگی ما بوده است. وقتی جوان بودیم، خیلی شعور نداشتیم. با افزایش سن، باهوش تر نشدیم، امّا توانستیم یکی دو چیز را یاد بگیریم.

مثلاً، ما از کمونیسم شورایی آموختیم که بلشویسم به طور غیر قابل برگشتی از پای بست ویران است. آنارشیسم به ما آموخت که چگونه با اقتدار و سلسله مراتب مبارزه کنیم. کمونیسم چپ، مارکسیسم اتونومیست، موقعیت آفرینان بین الملل، فمینیسم، آنارکو-کمونیسم، سندیکالیسم، مارکسیسم انسانگرا و کمونیسم آزادیخواه، همگی بر روی مواضع فکری ما اثر گذاشته اند.

و با این حال، ما همچنان مشتاق دانشِ بیشتر، ماجراجویی آشوبگرانه تر و جنجال های رادیکال تر هستیم. فراملی گرایان ایرانی که در سراسر جهان پراکنده شده اند، فقط می توانند انقلاب را از دور تشویق کنند. اما شاید با هم و به کمک هم بتوانیم تأثیری نامتناسب با منابع ناچیزمان بگذاریم. وانگهی، انقلاب که هر روز اتفاق نمی‌افته. پس بیایید بپریم روی این موج انقلابی و ببینیم که ما را به کجا می برد.
